Black & White or full-on colour
French artist Jean Boggio has joined forces with the porcelain manufacturer Franz to create a thoroughly modern collection at the very forefront of the latest trends.
The ambience is characterised by two very different inspirations. On one hand, it's all colour, pop art and the Seventies. Red for the « Dreams of China » tea service, turquoise blue and orange on the figurines of the « China Circus » line, and bright apple green for the vases with their mantle of luxuriant vegetation.
On the other hand, we have black and white, a pairing that is as timeless as it is resolutely fashionable. The collection also makes waves with its pieces in porcelain, that impress the public by the delicacy of their lines and their rich variety of decorative detail. Pride of place must surely go to a magnificent folding screen: white panels, adorned with a black-outlined, raised leaf design, and also to a rectangular mirror that offers a delightful contrast between the looking-glass and the impenetrable 'jungle' that surrounds it. Both designs come from the «Jardin Extraordinaire » ('The Extraordinary Garden') line.
Always ready to explore new artistic territories and perspectives, Jean Boggio for Franz has also made his entry into the field of furniture, offering several striking, visually powerful creations: the low table, « Power Flower » line, Art Déco console table and the superb four door buffet decorated with a porcelain flower. And how could we forget the glass tables, held by the branches of a tree pointing skywards?
Jewellery forever
Jewellery, one of Jean Boggio's specialities, also figures in the brand's catalogue. Pendant-brooches and necklaces in porcelain and plated in pink gold revel in and play out their characters of mischevious sprites and bewitching fairies. The artist also has on display his designs created for the « Jungle Green » collection for the Bureau de Presse des Joailliers Créateurs (Jeweller-Creators Press Office). These are real gems of artistic design, not to be missed !
